Helm Hill Runners meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Mondays
The Monday run starts from the entrance to Kendal Leisure Centre at 6:45pm. We split into two groups, one running at a leisurely pace for an hour and the other at a very leisurely pace for 45 minutes. All year round except for bank holidays.

Wednesdays

Important news abour Weds night training - The last Helm session will be 22nd September AND from 1st September the session will start at 6.45pm prompt. We will then move to the Queen Katherine School from 29th September. 6.45pm Warm-up / 7pm start.

Currently on Wednesday evenings we meet from 6.45pm till 8pm on the Helm - the Helm is our summer training ground (hence the club name) and we stay there until the Autumn.

Wednesday night training is more intense than Mondays. Seniors and under 17's will do some form of performance enhancing workout such as hill reps, fartlek, intervals, and occasionally a bleep test to gauge improvements in fitness.
For the younger athlete, 6 years old and upward, the emphasis is on having fun whilst you run.

Notes on Winter Training - Remember you will be running in the town so dress to be seen by traffic.
All junior members must wear reflective bibs and we would recommend you bring your own (can be purchased in most sports shops). Parents are again reminded that we are not a child minding service and cannot take responsibility for unaccompanied children. New runners are always welcome at our training nights but we must insist that all juniors come properly equipped and have a responsible adult with them who either trains with the seniors, helps with junior training or stays until training is finished.

Are there any volunteers - parents or seniors - who would be happy to help occasionally with the youngest junior group. See Lorna on Wednesday nights if you can help.
