The ‘Short’ Yomp challenge to the Nine Standards & Kirkby Stephen.
Fastest overall time on the Short (6.25mile) course was Sarah Atkinson, age 9, in 57 minutes, winning the under 12 female prize. In the 4k Appleby fun run Sarah was 4th fastest overall in a time of 16.41. (fastest female of any age and won the trophy for first primary school girl).
Some exceptional running by all Helm Hill Juniors, very exciting young talent we have emerging.

Helm Hill Junior championships 2010 - race list
Our aim is to encourage our Junior members to participate in and enjoy racing. This year's Junior Championship consists of 5 races which form part of the BOFRA programme of events. It would be great to see as many members as possible taking part. There will usually be at least one of our coaching team present at each race and we will aim to meet at registration 30 minutes before the event starts.

Round 3 - Shutlingsloe - 31st May. Helm Hill juniors who raced were;

Heidi Murray - 5th U/12 - (5th overall)
Boys:
Rory Addison – 3rd U/16 - (2nd overall)
Tom Doyle - 8th U/18 - (5th overall)
Jos Addison – 9th U/18 - (3rd overall)
Round 4 - Quernmore, Lancaster Results - 19th June
Round 5 - Arnison Crag, Patterdale Results - 27th June
Helm Hill are currently lying 4th in the Club Championship, 1 point behind Scarborough (!!) with one race to go, at Darwen, Lancashire on 21st August. Well down to all Helm runners.

Bendrigg Fun Run - 12th June 2010
Two Helm juniors ran at the Bendrigg fun run on Saturday. Not so much a fun run as an undulating 3km road race. Christopher Richards had a fantastic race winning in 11.14 with Jacob Aubrey coming 3rd in 12.10.
